1. Loyalty has gone, so I do not regret it
Neither from me to you, nor do I blame you

2. For people like you are deceitful
In loyalty, ostentation and trickery

3. But I ask Allah for myself
To grant me safety

4. For the Sheikh is deeply disgraced
Hidden under his turban

5. Vile, bloated with arrogance
And wrapped in the greed of his belt

6. He does not care for piety
But I see his madness for misguidance

7. And so is the Effendi who has given
Free rein to every sin

8. You see him violating the system
And blaming the authority for the system

9. People flew away and he is still
Shackled in villainy and addiction

10. Tyranny has possessed him
He missed the path of righteousness

11. What good can a man do
Who until now has not spoken properly

12. Oh people, your elder to me
Is lower than a louse

13. Boorish, inclined to turmoil
He enjoys leadership

14. You boast of the unjust one
You boast and with trickery

15. Or of ancestry while you now
Are the vile rascals

16. You belittle the big
Then you see enormity in the small

17. Oh most ignorant of peoples, stop
Your claim of comprehension

18. Woe to a people with no
Pillars of manners among them

19. They are accustomed to whims
And misguidance and leaning

20. If they see a well-ordered garment
They deliberately undo its order

21. Or if they see one with bounty
They envy him and wish for his loss

22. They are accustomed to discord, though it
Results in grave calamities

23. The non-existent who trampled the rights is
In your hands, yet you have his bones

24. I was created against my will
And do not live comfortably

25. Around me are thousands of creatures
And boredom nearly kills me

26. No person pleased me, if he
Did not greet me with peace

27. We are the least perceptive of people
And the most lacking in dignity

28. I see hypocrisy as depravity
And every suspect has a mark

29. Our unruly souls will not be upright
Except with firmness

30. We will want piety
But our appointment is the Day of Judgement
