1. After prolonged abstinence from his love,
Love allowed me to kiss his cheeks,

2. And he leaned towards me, overcome by passion,
Resting his chest and forehead on my arm.

3. The electricity of love coursed through my body
And my heart became boundless,

4. When my lips touched his rosy mouth,
Our hearts were fulfilled with joy.

5. The realm of love is when Allah opens
Endless possibilities to His servant.

6. Whenever I jest too much,
He scolds me to soften my manners.

7. And when he gets worked up from the heat of my kisses
Or threatens me,

8. I kiss his mouth to make peace with him,
And he smiles, his lips like roses.

9. He bends like one seeking refuge
Or wraps his slender neck around me.

10. He overlooks my wandering hands around his waist
And delights at touching my breasts.

11. He shies away when I hold him tight
Like a gazelle fleeing the hunter.

12. I aspire to beauty, but the perfection of beauty
Is the home of my poem.

13. If I were devoid of love,
I wouldn’t exist as a poet.

14. So leave me be with the one who owns my heart,
Though I’m bound by propriety.

15. How sweet is life, my soul fills
In his extended shade.

16. How beautiful when he appears like a planet
Traveling to the house of Saud.

17. How beautiful when he smiles from his rosy lips
And his gaze is fluttering.

18. He is like a rose, graced with radiance,
Not with fake splendor.

19. Some people strayed from the path of truth
And attributed his origin to apes.

20. They were ignorant of moral virtues and intellect,
And the realities of his essence.

21. If their assumption were true, why then
Haven’t the rest of the apes evolved?

22. And if what they claim is true, what will
People become after a long time?

23. O advocates of his evolution from apes, abstain,
For he is one of you, steeped in denial.

24. Did nature only exist
For the ugly apes or the lions?

25. Whoever cannot comprehend the soul
Will be confounded by the origin of existence.

26. So follow Adam, or take back
The skins the ages have given you.
