1. A thousand afflictions every day
In the wake of a thousand wonders

2. Some appear from people
And some like punishment

3. So each day mountains
Hurl melting fire

4. And each day floods
Sweep fertile land

5. And each day seas
Rage in a horrendous state

6. A thousand slain souls
A thousand war-bent souls

7. How many earthquakes took
Those who lived so comfortably

8. Or a deafening explosion
Fighting its flames

9. And every drop faces
Its share of destruction

10. Battalions kill themselves
With suicide each day

11. And no soul grieves
For the gloomy souls

12. Each person and nation
Is in a wondrous state

13. Neither the old revere the truth
Nor the young stand straight

14. No refined men
Or refined women

15. No Muslim honors law
Nor Christian, the cross

16. It’s the corruption of our minds
In everything creeping

17. Though it’s chaos, God has
A watchful eye

18. I see the worst affliction
Clinging to its cause

19. And the earth's orbit is
To those on it, close
