1. The clouds appeared while the group was resting
After the darkness had cast its veil

2. A cloud swimming in space
Above the lazy mountains' heads

3. Concealing its stars from you in the sky
So you cannot see its eagle or Saturn

4. As if it were the great continent and the sky
An ocean of lightning it had polished

5. It crossed over us setting
And every hopeful forgot his hope

6. As if it and the lightning kindling it
Were an island in the blazing sky

7. And whenever some of it turned to rain
The lightning attracted its replacement toward it

8. And if you could see the living when it thundered
The boldest among them, it made their hearts fail

9. Melting like snow above its soil
We see the water inundating its mountain

10. It praised God when it departed
And took from its meadows their places

11. Then some turned to farming
And some to the forest, shepherding their camels

12. It had been like a wasteland, no plants in it
But it made it a verdant garden

13. As if laden with life
Passing over the meadows of Sudan

14. And so the Guardian sends mercy
And grace to the world through his messengers
