1. I am shy, yet I boast
of Tai over the two bald hills and its victor,

2. When the man of Tai raises his eyes,
he sees me above Al-Jawza, above the stars,

3. And Tai is none but tribes who descended
to the people of palm tree spring from all sides,

4. So this is the pride of people over my father,
my father Al-Ghālib, reviver of glory and eyebrow,

5. And if I did not place in the necks of Tai
positions whose shame remains not fleeting,

6. No woman of Tai would know who her father is,
even if she asked about her origin every genealogist,
