1. I think the two-dirham men are led
To a fate their terms set and their demise.
١. أَظُنُّ رِجالَ الدِرهَمَينِ تَسوقُهُم
إِلى قَدَرٍ آجالُهُم وَمَصارِعُ
2. And the one most prudent keeps close to his house,
Sure that what is willed shall come to pass.
٢. وَأَحزَمُهُم مَن قَرَّ في قَعرِ بَيتِهِ
وَأَيقَنَ أَنَّ العَزمَ لا بُدَّ واقِعُ
