1. O how strange are maidens on the day of Ma'qilah
They mocked me beneath the shade of the great lote tree
ูก. ูุง ุนูุฌูุจุงู ูููุนูุฐุงุฑู ูููู

ุนููููุฑูููู ุชูุญุชู ุธูููู ุงูุณูุฏุฑูุฉู ุงูููุจูุฑุง
2. So my tears from what was revealed to me streamed forth
Down upon my youth whenever I would wipe them away
ูข. ููุธูููู ุฏูู
ุนููู ู
ูู
ูุง ุจุงูู ูู ุณูุฑูุจุงู
ุนููู ุงูุดูุจุงุจู ุฅูุฐุง ููููููุชููู ุงููุญูุฏูุฑุง
3. And if my tribe found my evening to have departed
Then I would hunt gazelles and cows with it
ูฃ. ููุฅูู ุชูููู ููู
ููุชู ุฃูู
ุณูุช ููุฏู ุงููุทูููููุช
ููููุฏ ุฃูุตูุฏู ุจููุง ุงูุบูุฒูุงูู ููุงูุจูููุฑุง
4. Can an elderly man be blamed if his eyes shed tears
Or is he excused if he offers an apology?

ูููู ููุจูุฑู ุงูุณูููู ุฃูู ุฐูุฑูููุช

ูููู ู
ูุนุฐูุฑู ุฅููู ุงูุนุชูุฐูุฑุง
5. O Bashir you are Allahโs sword, attack the enemy with it
And a rain that makes the trees grow
ูฅ. ูุง ุจูุดุฑู ุฅูููููู ุณูููู ุงููููู ุตููู ุจููู
ุนููู ุงูุนูุฏูููู ููุบููุซู ูููุจูุชู ุงูุดูุฌูุฑุง
6. Who is like Bashir for unrelenting war
When he dons his coat of mail and loincloth

ูุซูู ุจูุดุฑู ููุญูุฑุจู ุบููุฑู ุฎุงู
ูุฏูุฉู
ุฅูุฐุง ุชูุณูุฑุจููู ุจูุงูู
ุงุฐูููู ููุงูุชููุฒูุฑุง
7. Binding war until it is led captive for him
At al-Musharifiyya and al-โAfi if he so wills
ูง. ุงูุนุงุตูุจู ุงูุญูุฑุจู ุญูุชูู ุชูุณุชูููุฏู ูููู
ุจูุงูู
ูุดุฑููููููุฉู ููุงูุนุงูู ุฅูุฐุง ููุฏูุฑุง
8. A sword brandished, the Commander of the Faithful wields it
And through it the Merciful has given victory to the supported

ูุฑู ุงูู
ูุคู
ููููู ุจููู
ููููุฏ ุฃูุนูุฒูู ุจููู ุงูุฑูุญู
ููู ู
ูู ููุตูุฑุง
9. Like the roaring of lions, strong necked ones
Whose bellowing breaks fortresses and palaces
ูฉ. ููู
ูุฎุฏูุฑู ู
ูู ููููุซู ุงูุบููู ุฐู ููุจูุฏู
ุถูุฑุบุงู
ูุฉู ููุญุทูู
ู ุงููุงู
ุงุชู ููุงูููุตูุฑุง
10. You see the lions, dumbstruck by him, their manes
Prostrating out of fear of him when he roars
ูกู . ุชูุฑู ุงูุฃูุณูุฏู ูููู ุฎูุฑุณุงู ุถูุฑุงุบูู

ููุณุฌูุฏูู ู
ูู ููุฑููู ู
ูููู ุฅูุฐุง ุฒูุฃูุฑุง
11. Familiar with meeting people, seizing
The wineglass that takes the wine from it

ูุณุชูุฃููุณู ุจููููุงุกู ุงููุงุณู ู
ูุบุชูุตูุจู
ูููุฃูููู ููุฃุฎูุฐู ู
ูููู ุงูู
ููููุจู ุงูุฎูู
ูุฑุง
12. As if the perfumer were sprinkling his perfume bottle
And his arms with aloes wood, staining his hair
ูกูข. ููุฃููููู
ุง ูููุถูุญู ุงูุนูุทูุงุฑู ููููููููู
ููุณุงุนูุฏูููู ุจูููุฑุณู ููุฎุถูุจู ุงูุดูุนูุฑุง
13. And I have never delighted in the relief from the woes of illness
Like the delight on the day when they said the news has arrived

ููููุฑุญูุฉู ูููู
ู ูุงููุง ุฃูุฎุจูุฑู ุงูุฎูุจูุฑุง
14. Al-Fatah โIkrimah the Bakri has informed us
That Abu Marwan al-Rabiโ has come
