1. Wherever you direct your steps, whether up the staircase or down,
They are the steadfast brothers, the mighty pillar with which

2. Mudar prevails amid the throng and press of battle.
Hisham, God's best choice for mankind, by whom is dispelled

3. From every land the darkness that o'ershadowed it.
And you, for these people after their Prophet,

4. Are a heaven whence is hoped the cloud to assuage their thirst.
You it is to whom the armies turn their heads,

5. And for the orphans you are their food.
To you have needs addressed themselves and hopes cut off their tether,

6. And kindnesses, in your repose, attained their consummation.
