إذا عدد الناس المكارم أشرفت

1. When people recount virtues,
The banners of my father Abu Harb tower over all who aspire to equal him.

١. إِذا عَدَّدَ الناسُ المَكارِمَ أَشرَفَت
رَوابي أَبي حَربٍ عَلى مَن يُطاوِلُ

2. The glory of every tribe comes to an end with them,
And they became for us the scions and the elders.

٢. إِلَيهِم تَناهى مَجدُ كُلِّ قَبيلَةٍ
وَصارَ لَهُم مِنّا الذُرى وَالكَواهِلُ

3. You are the reins of both the sons of Nizar,
When merits are counted among the two Holy Places.

٣. وَأَنتُم زِمامُ اِبنَي نِزارٍ كِلَيهِما
إِذا عُدَّ عِندَ المَشعَرَينِ الفَضائِلُ

4. A stalwart man of a tribe that time has not weakened,
With a critic who makes the immoral fall and attain their wishes.

٤. كَفانِيَ سَلمٌ عَضَّ دَهرٍ وَلَم يَزَل
لَهُ عارِضٌ يُردي العُفاةَ وَنائِلُ
