The Night of Power has passed and the sacred month

4. I seek refuge in a grave wherein are the shrouds of Munthir
And they are for the hands of the ones seeking refuge, sacred

7. O sons of Munthir, no neighbor can seek refuge from Munthir's grave
A neighbor who is mightier when he calls and safer

8. Will Munthir then bring me out from Mukhayyis
With him an excuse for me, his voice speaking

9. I seek refuge with Bishr and Al-Mu'allรก the two of them
Sons of Malik, most faithful of neighbors and noblest

10. Against Al-Hรกrith the savior, `Iyรกd the son of Dayhath
So Abu Layla returned it to him while he was most unjust

11. He was no neighbor but a bucket attached
To a rope of sinews, its knot unbreakable

12. He returned the brother of `Amr the son of Sa`d with his repelling
All of them while they are the divided loot

13. So whoever is the neighbor of the son of Al-Mu'allรก has then ascended
Above people, fearing no harm or injury

14. And which father after Al-Mu'allรก and Munthir
And Bishr is called to she who is most silent?

ููุจูุดุฑู ูููุงุฏู ูููููุชู ูููู ุฃููููู

15. They are the select few fulfilling the pledge of what
Their pledge mended the rift and the blood

16. And how can one with fifty shackles and rings
Upon him survive the night which is darkest?

17. I refused to endure the night and the people among them

21. As if the meteors of Qรกbis were under a darkness

And cling to death more readily in resignation

23. When his fangs are bared from incisors
Between an unpierced muzzle and unsevered lips

24. He has two sons who continually run to them
With the limbs of a nimble old man thereby he is nourished

25. And the first they tasted after weaning them

28. Khalid taught me the walk of the shackled
And I was not lacking his lead, learning

29. I say to my two legs upon which
Are fetters and irons restricting each step

30. Is there not among the sons of Al-Jรกrรบd a scent for us
As the scent of the gap-toothed Euphrates wafted, rippling

ูู ุฑุงุฆูุญู ูููุง

31. And whoever seeks the efforts of Al-Mu'allรก will find for him
An ascension on his palms he who stumbles

ุตูุนูุฏุงู ุนููู ูููููููู ู
ูู ููุชูุฌูุซููู

32. Efforts for Al-Mu'allรก led him to glory
Until he reached the heights, its ladder complete

ุฅููู ุงูู
ูุฌุฏู ุญูุชูู ุฃูุฏุฑููู ุงูุดูู

33. So excellent are the two glories of the Ignorance within them
And they, before these people, submitted to God

ูุฌุฏู ุงูุฌุงูููููููุฉู ููููู

ููุจูู ููุฐุง ุงููุงุณู ููููููู ุฃูุณููู

34. Houses are counted in the tribes of their people
While yours among each two houses is greatest

35. May God comfort me and restrain me
With the mercy of Him who is more merciful than my father

36. I seek refuge with Bishr, Al-Mu'allรก and Munthir
Pillars they were, armed and helmeted

37. And thirdly the guided among them in his whiteness
To goodness in night though it is darkest
