1. What creature is there that does not have
Around its neck this rope or that rope
١. أَيُّ الخَلائِقِ لَيسَت في رِقابِهِمُ
لَأَوَّلِيَّةِ هَذا أَو لَهُ نِعَمُ
2. Whoever thanks God thanks the precedence of this
Religion from this house attained by the nations
٢. مَن يَشكُرِ اللَهَ يَشكُر أَوَّلِيَّةَ ذا
فَالدينُ مِن بَيتِ هَذا نالَهُ الأُمَمُ
3. It ascends to the peak of religion that was beyond
The reach of palms and feet to attain
٣. يُنمى إِلى ذُروَةِ الدينِ الَّتي قَصُرَت
عَنها الأَكُفُّ وَعَن إِدراكِها القَدَمُ
4. He whose ancestor obeyed the superiority of prophets is for him
And the superiority of his nation submitted to him the nations
٤. مَن جَدُّهُ دانَ فَضلُ الأَنبِياءِ لَهُ
وَفَضلُ أُمَّتِهِ دانَت لَهُ الأُمَمُ
5. Derived from the Messenger of God, his spring
And the superiority of his nation submitted to him the nations
٥. مُشتَقَّةٌ مِن رَسولِ اللَهِ نَبعَتُهُ
وَفَضلُ أُمَّتِهِ دانَت لَهُ الأُمَمُ
6. The robe of darkness splits open from the light of his aura
As the sun emerges radiating from its darkness
٦. يَنشَقُّ ثَوبُ الدُجى عَن نورِ غُرَّتِهِ
كَالشَمسِ تَنجابُ عَن إِشراقِها الظُلَمُ
7. From a group whose love is religion and whose hatred
Is blasphemy, and their nearness is salvation and refuge
٧. مِن مَعشَرٍ حُبُّهُم دينٌ وَبُغضُهُمُ
كُفرٌ وَقُربُهُمُ مُنجىً وَمُعتَصَمُ
8. Mentioned after mention of God is their mention
In every beginning and ending with it the word
٨. مُقَدَّمٌ بَعدَ ذِكرِ اللَهِ ذِكرُهُمُ
في كُلِّ بِدءٍ وَمَختومٌ بِهِ الكَلِمُ
9. If the people of piety were counted, they were their imams
Or it was said who is the best of people, it was said they
٩. إِن عُدَّ أَهلُ التُقى كانوا أَئمَّتَهُم
أَو قيلَ مَن خَيرُ أَهلِ الأَرضِ قيلَ هُمُ
10. No generous one after their generosity can
And no people equal them, however generous they were
١٠. لا يَستَطيعُ جَوادٌ بَعدَ جودِهِمُ
وَلا يُدانيهِمُ قَومٌ وَإِن كَرُموا
11. They are the succours when a crisis has constrained
And the lion, lion of calamity and raging might
١١. هُمُ الغُيوثُ إِذا ما أَزمَةٌ أَزَمَت
وَالأُسدُ أُسدُ الشَرى وَالبَأسُ مُحتَدِمُ
12. Hardship does not diminish the expansion of their palms
That is similar whether they flourished or not
١٢. لا يُنقِصُ العُسرُ بَسطاً مِن أَكُفِّهِمُ
سِيّانِ ذَلِكَ إِن أَثرَوا وَإِن عَدِموا
13. Evil and afflictions are averted by their love
And benevolence and blessings are gained by it
١٣. يُستَدفَعُ الشَرُّ وَالبَلوى بِحُبِّهِمُ
وَيُستَرَبُّ بِهِ الإِحسانُ وَالنِعَمُ
