1. I swear if it were not for Quraysh
And what has passed on to it
١. وَأُقسِمُ أَن لَولا قُرَيشٌ وَما مَضى
إِلَيها وَكانَ اللَهُ بِالحُكمِ أَعلَما
2. And Allah knew best about the rule
We would have someone who wears the night from them
٢. لَكانَ لَنا مَن يَلبَسُ اللَيلَ مِنهُمُ
وَضَوءُ النَهارِ مِن فَصيحٍ وَأَعجَما
3. And the ablution of daytime from eloquent and non-Arab
And from us is he who revived Al-Wa'eed and did not cease
٣. وَمِنّا الَّذي أَحيا الوَئيدَ وَلَم يَزَل
أَبِيّاً عَلى الأَعداءِ أَن يَتَهَضَّما
4. To be stern to the enemies lest they covet
And a neighbor whom we protected, and were it not for our ropes
٤. وَجارٍ مَنَعناهُ وَلَولا حِبالُنا
لَأَصبَحَ شِلوَ الحَربِ غِبّاً مُقَسَّما
5. He would have woken up disabled in war, humiliated and divided
We raised him so high that the stars flowed beneath him
٥. رَفَعنا لَهُ حَتّى جَرى النَجمُ دونَهُ
وَحَلَّ عَلى رُكنِ المَجَرَّةِ سُلَّما
