Stubborn in keeping it secret and its burdens

2. Upon you to head to the city for in it
Is a king who conquered the land in his grasp

4. To him belong their two greatest lineages when
Quraysh meet and glory sits atop his shoulders

5. I say to rivals whose father is submissive
The sons of every tall, pregnant camel

6. Go to Khalid, and if you descend upon him
Together, though his subordinates cling to him

7. You'd be like one who meets the Euphrates when
The peaks and troughs of its waves clash upon him

8. We called upon Allah until he answered us
With a defiant white horse with flooding reins

9. He was nurtured by the knights of Quraysh as if he were
A polished sword that rectified their natures

10. He was nurtured by the chiefs of Quraysh and grew
Among Tamim as the head of glory and shoulders

11. The watcher over those crying for help came to us
Our Lord, his endless boons pour upon us each day

12. As if the roaring Euphrates in the morning
Warded off his left-handed blows from us

13. Khalid came to a land that was poor
For Khalid when his riding camels came to it

14. When he came to it, its land shone for him
And those who feared barrenness attained their wants
