1. I hasten to Shawwal with a gazelle
The winds have brought her to me from all directions
١. أُبادِرُ شَوّالاً بِظَبيَةَ إِنَّني
أَتَتني بِها الأَهواءُ مِن كُلِّ جانِبِ
2. With her thighs fully fleshed, if she called a dead man -
Even if he were in his shroud beneath the tombstones -
٢. بِمالِئَةِ الحِجلَينِ لَو أَنَّ مَيِّتاً
وَإِن كانَ في الأَكفانِ تَحتَ النَصائِبِ
3. He would shake off the dust to go to her
Even if he were beneath firmly lodged stones.
٣. دَعَتهُ لِأَلقى التُربَ عَنهُ اِنتِفاضَهُ
وَلَو كانَ تَحتَ الراسِياتِ الرَواسِبِ
