1. He who walked to the fire in shackles
Has failed among the sons of Darim
١. لَقَد خابَ مِن أَولادِ دارِمَ مَن مَشى
إِلى النارِ مَشدودَ الخِناقَةِ أَزرَقا
2. If on the Day of Resurrection an angry captain
Comes to me driving Al-Farazdaq
٢. إِذا جاءَني يَومَ القِيامَةِ قائِدٌ
عَنيفٌ وَسَوّاقٌ يَسوقُ الفَرَزدَقا
3. I fear after the grave, if I am not pardoned
More than the grave, tighter and hotter
٣. أَخافُ وَراءَ القَبرِ إِن لَم يُعافِني
أَشَدَّ مِنَ القَبرِ اِلتِهاباً وَأَضيَقا
4. When they drink boiling water, you see them
Melting from the heat tearing apart
٤. إِذا شَرِبوا فيها الصَديدَ رَأَيتَهُم
يَذوبونَ مِن حَرِّ الصَديدِ تَمَزُّقا
