1. We have under the sky over them
Of people, a bird whose sun and full moons are ours

2. We have taken the horizons over them
For us is its land beyond them and its seas

3. Were the land of Muslims to be surrounded
By the living, its frontiers would be lost

4. For us the jinn have surrendered and every tribe
Whose prayers and infidels are ours

5. In a generous lion, glory and in them
Tributaries of abundant, copious generosity

6. They have donned a veil and amulet around it
Shrouds that cannot hide from the glare of death

7. While we have struck people as though they are
Deserted summer ruins preyed on by its eagles

8. With a polished sword that makes arms quiver
And splits the thick skulls of young men

9. We displaced the people of Najran after
Good fortune turned away from Bakr and its dwellers

10. We are the springtime of people in every crisis
Of fate which no mounted camel can walk

11. When the horizons darken from every side
With the darkness of a departing calamity and its walls

12. The kindling was lit and the two cliffs blazed
And the smooth rock melted its inhabitants and its caves

13. The nimble lead goat went bounding fast
And the flock followed led by their chief

14. Urging them on as the war party roused them to raid
There our cauldrons feed the defeated

15. Whenever the war makes its day downpour
We know the right of nobility
