1. The forces of Ibn Ahwoz have been infected
With the malady of Iraq and the darkness of strife

2. In every direction, east and west, his forces
Are like shooting stars or a sturdy pillar

3. With their spears they heal those led astray
From the straight path and proper traditions

4. Truly Ibn Ahwoz is praiseworthy in his traits
And a safe haven from the pitfalls of time

5. His horses do not shy from trampling the slain
Or charging into bloodbaths at full gallop

6. He who has a bitter father will have high honor
And youthful vigor, not softness and pliancy
