1. From Syria to the people of Babylon
And you have denied all their superstitions
١. مِنَ الشَأمِ حَتّى باشَرَت أَهلَ بابِلٍ
وَأَكذَبتَ مِمّا جَمَّعوا كُلَّ عائِفِ
2. The Shia have been slow such that it seems
They are driven like the heavily laden camels
٢. وَقَد أَبطَأَ الأَشياعُ حَتّى كَأَنَّما
يُساقونَ سَوقَ المُثقَلاتِ الزَواحِفِ
3. By my life, you have travelled without resting by night
And did not sleep among those who slept under awnings
٣. لَعَمري لَقَد أَسرَيتَ لا لَيلَ عاجِزٍ
وَما نِمتَ فيمَن نامَ تَحتَ القَطائِفِ
4. So they came when you had extinguished the fires of strife
And calmed the trembling, fearful hearts
٤. فَجاؤوا وَقَد أَطفَأتَ نيرانَ فِتنَةٍ
وَسَكَّنتَ رَوعاتِ القُلوبِ الرَواجِفِ
