1. My soul is his ransom, loved by Al-Bahnasi
And he who has him for a protector is not alone

2. So excellent is the youth Isa when hosts contend
And the cold night brings clattering arms

3. His locks grew from Suleim to high estate
And lineages of sincerity between Nasr and Khalid

4. By your right the glorious gifts assemble but found
No father for you but Majid and Ibn Majid

5. And you it was who became, O Nizār, a defence
Against foes and dire events

6. I will praise what you have granted me and count it
When men tell their excellence in assemblies

7. You were guarded by Magnanimous Muġīth to
The best of lives, from Suleim and his sire

8. They are the refuge of glory which is feared thereby
When upon men descends one of the frays

9. They ennobled over the builders and fought
Endeavors whose telling no praiser belied

10. My soul is ransom for you O Ibn Nasr and my father
And my wealth is for Tarif and his offspring
