Nor much of the past that makes one forgetful.
١. لَم يُنسِني أَطلالَ ماوِيَّةٍ ناسي
وَلا أَكثَرُ الماضي الَّذي مِثلُهُ يُنسي
2. When the sun of the day went down, I returned it
As the thirsty returns cloudy weather.
٢. إِذا غَرَبَت شَمسُ النَهارِ وَرَدتُها
كَما يَرِدُ الظَمآنُ آبِيَةَ الخِمسِ
