1. No tribe among the clans of Marr and Aalij,
Seeks aught but ruin for the noble tribes.

2. Except that voices called out till they grew hoarse,

And Amr bin Amr, and in the lawful mounts of Sulati.

4. We found eighty horsemen of the clan of Amr,
Who would face the night with courage as warriors.

5. And the Udaiyis were under their spears,
The spears of the clan of Amr and the morning lights.

6. As in-laws, womb-relatives and neighbors,
Among them was no horseman but a deserter.

7. So if you were among the sons of Amr bin Aamer,
You were honored, but you are from the progeny of Jaami.
