1. He longs for the new country as if it were a turbulent sea
Hope plays with him as the hands of regret play with him

2. Looking around him, deaf despair frightens him
Remembering the language in which melody stirs his lament

3. He walks bowed down to the ground, pain pushes him
How many nights overflowed with the tears of sorrow like blood

4. And sorrow is stirred in him during the night by the specter of pain
He did not forget the home of love though he owes it condemnation

5. And he sees grim realities while joy seems like a dream
And from excessive sorrow he imagines that existence is nothingness
