1. This people have become mostly tales and gossip
So God is the one whose help is sought, patience is good

2. How heavy is the truth on those we see
The truth has never stopped being burdensome and difficult

3. Oh people of this world, oh neighbors of the dead
To what extent are you neglecting the path

4. We are indeed neglectful of that
And death makes generations pass away, one after another

5. I am truly deluded, and decay
Progresses quickly through my body, little by little

6. Take provisions for death if you are called
Its caller has called: “Set out! Set out!”

7. I am deceived by fate, thinking that
Each of its days has mighty affairs for me

8. How many great in status in their own eyes
Have woken esteemed but went to sleep disgraced

9. Oh you who addresses this world, to itself
It surely cries out loudly each day

10. How lethal is this world to its couples
Counting them: a slain one, a slain one

11. Ask about this world and its shade
For indeed in Heaven there is ample shade

12. And indeed in Heaven there is for the soul and the spirit
Gardens, comfort, and Salsabil

13. Whoever enters Heaven attains satisfaction
From what he wishes and stays in beautiful repose
