1. The misfortunes, their coming and going
Are constant among people, serving their rounds
١. إِنَّ الخُطوبَ غُدُوَّها وَرَواحَها
في الخَلقِ دائِبَةٍ تُجيلُ قِداحَها
2. O dweller of this world, you have settled into it
And you will not leave, even if you detest its wideness
٢. يا ساكِنَ الدُنيا لَقَد أوطِنتَها
وَلَتَبرَحَنَّ وَإِن كَرِهتَ بَراحَها
3. Prepare for death, care not for numbers
And look out for yourself if you want its betterment
٣. خُذ لِلمَنايا لا أَبالَكَ عُدَّةً
وَاِنظُر لِنَفسِكَ إِن أَرَدتَ صَلاحَها
4. Be not fooled, it's as if I see the punishment
Of time has spread its wing over you
٤. لا تَغتَرِر فَكَأَنَّني بِعُقابِ رَي
بِ الدَهرِ قَد نَشَرَت عَلَيكَ جَناحَها
