1. You name yourself wise in words
Yet I see you dwelling in disgrace

2. And I see you enriching from misguidance
Yet I see you empty of guidance

3. Time and fate denied existence and wore away
Nations that were ancient long ago

4. You neglected the bliss of the Everlasting Abode
And sought bliss in the Abode of Extinction

5. And you disobeyed your Lord, O son of Adam, stubbornly
Yet you found your Lord Forgiving when you disobeyed

6. And you asked your Lord, O son of Adam, out of greed
Yet you found your Lord Generous when you asked

7. And you called upon your Lord, O son of Adam, in awe
Yet you found your Lord Merciful when you called

8. So if you are thankful, you will thank a Benefactor
And if you deny, you will deny the Tremendous

9. Glorified is Allah, Who has always been
The Knower of what hearts conceal, the Sublime King
