1. My friend, worries will surely subside,
And he who seeks the truth, the truth is more eloquent,

2. The just man does not doubt, and justice remains,
On the paths of truth, while evil is crooked.

3. The conduct of the pious and the righteous in adversity
Has for them a lamp between their eyes shining.

4. And the intentions of the truthful are pure white,
While the tongues of the truthful do not waver.

5. No creature has any argument against Allah,
And he has no escape from Allah's argument.

6. Many generations have passed from us,
And we will pass after them and follow.

7. Slow down, O you with a palace and its balconies,
For you will be mocked for abandoning it and disturbed.

8. You are far from what you have chosen,
And you have no escape from what is in your hands.

9. Oh, how many disgraced were honored,
And kings crowned with eternity's diadems.

10. By your life, the world is not precious to me,
Even if the misguided adorn it and embroider it.

11. And if the world was dear to me,
My need for religion would be greater.
