1. The fate of affairs belongs to Allah
Blessed is he who learns lessons

2. Blessed is every watcher
And every grateful worshipper

3. Blessed is every thinker
And every patient appraiser

4. O home, woe unto you! Where are
The doors of cities and palaces?

5. Our wishes and pride in you
O home of the arrogant

6. Rather, o separator of gatherings
And spoiler of joys

7. Where are those who changed
Into graves in courtyards and homes?

8. I visited the graves, so between me
And the dishonesty and falsehood in them

9. O brother, why have you forgotten
The day of loss in affairs?

10. You wasted your life in comfort
And waking early

11. And felt safe from deceptions
Whose whispers are hidden in hearts

12. Yet you have the greatest proof
In what you prepare of arrogance

13. Perhaps your eye will not return
While you gather for the ages

14. Allow the times for everyone
Arrogant and proud

15. For soon it will break his back
With one of the breakers of the prideful

16. Do not feel safe from the mishaps
Of the stumbling fate

17. If your life were increased
By the lives of all the eagles

18. Or you were made of solid iron
And were of the deaf mountains

19. Or held fast to the highest wind
Or swam the deepest seas

20. The cycles of life would come upon you
And the rotations of months
