1. We all die, every one of us, without doubt
And no one remains except the King of kings

2. O soul, you are oblivious while time passes
Yet the turns of fate are not heedless of you

3. O soul, how many days have I fallen because of you
To God I complain of what I suffer from you

4. O soul, if I do not weep for what I fear
Will befall you tomorrow on Judgement Day, who will weep?

5. O soul, this world is no enduring castle
So do not make your goal anywhere but the next life

6. O soul, do not forget God's grace upon you
For His aid makes me a king and His disfavor ruins me

7. And the creeping of ants in the darkness on a barren plain
Is not more hidden than hypocrisy and polytheism within
