1. Good is best when you adhere
And evil is most vile when you aspire

2. People did not fare well with the days
Yet you made your peace with them

3. Time surely moralizes
And makes clear to you if you understand

4. Your knowledge of affairs is enough
If you benefit from what you have learned

5. You are refined if you are content
With what you were given and denied

6. The enlightened sought piety
Awakening while you slept

7. Do good, else you will regret
When you fail to do good

8. And when you resent a person
For their manners, avoid what you resented

9. Have mercy on your Lord's creation
That He may have mercy on you

10. Do not oppress, be not of
The tyrants, and pardon when oppressed

11. And if you are mindful of God
In all affairs, you have prospered
