1. To Allah belong the outcomes of all affairs
I fear disunity, that it will be swift

2. Do you feel safe in this life as if you do not see
In every aspect, misfortunes lying in wait

3. You have become blind, though seeing, confused
In bright lights, deaf while hearing

4. Death is remembered, you are headlong towards it
As if you do not see it as a pitfall

5. Why do I see what you have lost as if
You have deliberately let it slip away

6. And craved those with depraved passions
And concealed poison beneath them, potent

7. And to what extent the steeds of the pious have outrun
And so attained the springtime of modesty

8. And they will surely turn away from guidance if they are not
To the ties of worldly life thereby rendered compliant

9. How many lessons have you seen, if you took heed
And contemplated them, and how many wonders seen, unique

10. If you seek safety in affairs, then be
To your Lord a listener and obedient
