1. God made this world contemptible to you
And made you hate it
١. اللَهُ هَوَّنَ عِندَكَ الدُنيا
وَبَغَّضَها إِلَيكا
2. But you insisted on grasping
Everything in your hands
٢. فَأَبَيتَ إِلّا أَن تُصَّغِّ
رَ كُلَّ شَيءٍ في يَدَيكا
3. The world was not belittled to anyone
As much as it was belittled to you
٣. ما هانَتِ الدُنيا عَلى
أَحَدٍ كَما هانَت عَلَيكا
