1. The slave of the High Presence has become
Complaining of the wretchedness of the situation

2. The servant has stopped, so his hopes
Are caught up in prayer

3. And sustenance is cut off, and he whose sustenance
Is cut off, how wretched is his state!

4. So the month of Dhu al-Qa'dah has restrained my hand
From fulfilling its duty in it, an exalted hand

5. And they told us about the month of Dhu al-Hijjah
That is the remnants of the empty year

6. And the beginning of the year, as they say
If they are truthful, it will be taken during the exile

7. So send the one who will shave the beard of pilgrimage
If our hopes are not wasted

8. Or make up for her honor generously
With the honor of that charming piece
