1. Your loyalty is incumbent upon every Muslim
And your love in the two abodes is the best gain

2. If a man does not honor himself with your love
Tomorrow, in God's eyes, he is not honored

3. You inherited guidance from the text of Jesus son of Haidar
Not the text of Jesus son of Mary

4. And he said: "Obey the son of my uncle for he
Is my trustee over the secret of the veiled God

5. Thus did the Chosen one will to his cousin
To the brilliant day of Ghadir though accused

6. Ali is equal in it, recent and old
Though precedence in merit is for the earlier

7. You won the hearts of Muslims with a pledged oath
Strengthened by your loyalty's firm contract

8. And you were given inheritance of the cloak from a father
Who passed away from it without dividing

9. Yours is the right to it, beyond all rivals
Even if he had attained the cloak by peace

10. And had they kept the will regarding you, none
Besides you in its regions would have a dirham's abode

11. Among them are branches in every tribe
While you are the son of the Chosen's daughter by lineage

12. Not every green-branched one is a spring
Nor every staff of the spear a straightener

13. You have borne from the caliphate's burden what weakened
Its foundations beneath it, tottering

14. And you renewed what was neglected of the law's poison
And revived each teacher of its standards

15. You stood by God's covenant between His servants
As a trustee, and the decade's covenant did not decay

16. So He may know that God, Majestic His Majesty
Granted you the meaning of knowledge before learning

17. You are the light of guidance embodied
Not like bodies of flesh and blood

18. That your station is protected with Him
Like the protected insight of an inspired one

19. Had it not been for exaggeration, I would have said of you
An utterance immortalized on the brow of time

20. But it suffices me that you are eternal
Whose merits are in unambiguous verses of the Scripture

21. Every era or place you were pleased with
Is in Islam a most noble season

22. Al-Baqee' was not ennobled but for your prayers
Toward the honorable Ancient House, inviolable

23. Nor did the month of Muharram precede what came after
Except by your prioritizing of the sacred

24. It is the year whose felicity came spurring its heels
While you advanced its days, the best advancer

25. The happy start of it does not cease to be accompanied
By prosperity, not yet completed

26. But the Al-Askari shrine, it is indeed
A solemn oath by the All-Powerful's Name

27. You made the sons of your grandfather a state
Making the realm's affairs revolve around them

28. They became the bracelet on the era's right hand
And a fence protecting Islam, never to crumble

29. With the light of justice they dispelled all darkness
So you see in people no wronged one

30. And one of them rules the kingdom, crowned over them
With decisive rule like the Almighty's decree

31. You see the mark of kingship on his forehead
Gleaming to the onlooker's eye envisioning

32. Awe-inspiring when serious, were it not for his smiling face
None above the earth would be smiling

33. Death and wishes in his time
Are divided between misery and bliss

34. So glory to my righteous lords, his heirs
And clashing of swords girded at Al-Akhzam

35. They bared to fatality honorable traits
And taught it humanity after frowning

36. So neither is the air after the dawn sunlit
Nor is it after evening darkening

37. And people's souls feared you before
You ruled, and every suspect notion was dispelled

38. They said: "A fierce, conquering king and youth
Cub of the seeker of vengeance, unsheathing his blade"

39. But you succeeded with the best conduct
Whose musk spreads fragrant from the mouth

40. And you trimmed the claws of evil from them, so they accepted
Fingers of a pious palm that were not trimmed

41. And you reconciled the hearts' disunity with kindness
Beloved to them is pardoning every sinner

42. You combined with what delighted them of honor
Generosities that created wealth for every destitute

43. Gifts that did not gladden any soul but yours
No palm was generous with them but yours

44. For you through them is gratitude from all creation
And for the righteous guide, reward of mercy

45. When we say what more can we want
When you have sufficed beyond all bounty and nobility

46. You were patient with suspicions until they ended
Then came with others not imagined

47. We lost an era you did not own
After loss of water none but dry ablution remains

48. You did not stop being glorified in every season
Revered in this revered standing place
