From the lowest pattern, not the highest,

2. She brought me thick clothes as if
Tailors wove the silk unwillingly.

3. Where are the gilded clothes, so old,
While for you I have no thrift in gold.

4. Yours will wear out in time for sure,
While my words last for generations more.

5. Your jewelry still adorns your hands,
While mine are bare, and will always so stand.

6. If not for manners, I'd give them back,
Not taking cheap tin for fine gold I lack.

7. But my knowledge stops me for I know,
We'd share all, if in need, money or soul.
