A rising whose every side glitters

4. We only visited his abode of might
So it was absent when all present were absent

5. If our days darkened with his loss
In the darkness the moon's value is known

6. The people conspired against our deprivation
Until the morning breeze blew cold in estrangement

7. As though, when we lost his nearness
A bow stripped bare of its string

8. When we knew he traveled
We wished him safety in travel from God

9. We appealed to the Merciful to extend him
Conquest and clear victory from the Merciful

10. O excellent the day we see his forehead
And eyes quench their thirst by the sight

11. And mouths kiss his right hand
A hand whose rains are bountiful

12. There excuses of passion are accepted
And every sin of parting is forgiven
