1. I have been blessed in the best of my organs and limbs
And the best of my family when they are counted, and my children

2. With a face shining from the joy of kinship, he did not

By a star in the sky of glory that ignited

4. Like Al-Musharrafī, but not blemished
And Al-Samhari, but not flattering

5. Glory and honor grew on my character
Guidance and advice grew on my tongue

6. He used to support me, then he led
Until by his virtue became my transport and support

7. From the family of Ahmad, rather more noble in lineage
A match between glories and palms

8. A people whose company delights you on the day of horror
To meet thousands of people from them in ones

9. The hills rise above the dunes if they are buried
In them and ascend as high as the appearing hill

10. And from their brilliance while the land is dormant
A brilliant hill rose over dunes

11. In every land lies a grave containing
The solution to intricate riddles of noble palms

12. A grave watered on its sides by adversity, not
Cheered by ancestors and forefathers

13. And in Al-Husaib lies the slope of Abdullah
Watered by sweat in the direction the wind blows

14. And in Al-Qarrafa lies the resting place that still holds
A fire for him to extinguish and ignite

15. Tomorrow Muhammad becomes Mahmoud, and he left me
Grieving, he eulogized me, to the dismay of my enviers

16. I passed by the quarter and valley, so it saddened me
And I was told the companion of the quarter and valley died

17. And he rode on more beautiful than what it was accustomed to
And nothing is more beautiful than biers

18. Cheered by sighs to which I do not say
Gently, be kind to my heart O guide

19. Kindness, piety and provision prepared me
Great sorrow, so much between provision and provision

20. O you who reminds me by the call to prayer
When the name of the guiding Mustafa is mentioned in it

21. I complain to you of the echo of my heart and its ailment
Will you quench the agonies of the pursuer?

22. Why would I visit you like a visitor when you witness
The state of my condition despite my nearness and distance

23. You ignored me, yet you are of noble character, so why
Have you not treated me in a way I'm unaccustomed?

24. Who germinated to reproach me when
My thoughts went astray upon my issuing and composing

25. And who did I trust with my secret to preserve it
In what brings about reform or corruption?

26. Between you and I is an appointment I will visit you in
Without appointment, in the daughters of decay

27. Your soul will embrace my soul upon its arrival
And bodies will meet with bodies
