1. I have no more excuses for my innocent love,
Since tears have admitted it beyond denial.

Kissing cheeks I find delights and ways.

Or leave me be, to love as I desire.

Is a heart that welcomes this sweet peril.

5. Reproach me not for parting abruptly - forgive me.
People have varying degrees in love’s spheres.

6. Don’t blame her for the poisons of hot summer days,
Nor blame me if storms bring separation.

7. The circle of fairness encircles
A pure love that bears no murkiness.

8. It draws me and her though winds are still,
In union and separation, coming and going.

9. Such is the song woven of words
In the mind, with reason and passion interlaced,

10. Spinning so long as the loincloth graces him,
And buttons grace the stallion’s coat.

11. Chaste is he who utters it, shaming neither
Modesty nor dignity with any shame or dishonor.

12. I joined his praise to this song of a king
Whose deeds are recited in fame’s narration,

13. Crowned from the Ayyubid line, who revived
Poetry’s fervor and gave splendor to verse.

14. If you say his court is a meadow for hospitality,
Then say his repose is a haven for guests.

15. Those who depart it or alight within
Are pilgrims and settlers for life.

16. Wherever their mounts rest within its expanse
Their burdens of poverty's sorrows are lifted.

17. Noble of spirit, none dares approach him
In need or privation from left or right.

18. If mouths traced before hands in his presence
Their lips would show traces of gifts on his palms.

19. Fingers give gold freely, untouched by dinars,
As he bestows without exchange or bargain.

20. Doubt and hope both weary if you reflect,
For plenty springs from his palms' dew.

21. He twists nights' threads above his hands
To rain the land’s regions with generosity.

22. Fate is crippled by his valor, though destiny's
Cords are drawn tight around the treasury.

23. Men plead and he pardons, able yet merciful,
Until his gifts seem lifetimes themselves.

24. No number of thousands pleases him, unless
Among individuals it forms a tenth.

25. My claim of witnesses is open, not hidden,
With thousands grasping his wealth present.

26. His gifts repeat, good customs echoing,
Buying free men whose bond is now blessing.

27. None boast but the Pride of the Faith; all else
Is futile pretense - be not fooled by excess.

28. Ask me of him, for my tongue holds dear
What I say - histories and chronicles bound,

29. Though free across horizons, moving,
The lore of glory traveling without reigns.

30. I speak, though words are cited; the noblest
Are those that adorned speeches and poems.

31. Let not Turnashah deceive you - he is outshone
By the prestige settled upon his court.

32. While the Ayyubid sun guarantees
My guidance, fortune’s stars are moons.

33. Though nights did evil in ignorance
That the Ayyubids shield me from their wrongs.

34. Time has brought me a refugee to your land -
So lend me your protection as my allies!

35. Hoard this jewel mine and it will fill my mouth -
Stinginess toward me is pure generosity.

36. Rejoice at my notions - they bring joy,
Or rather, at my droplets - for they are rivers.

37. If you wish affection, then Salman and Omar,
Or if you seek praise, Bashar and Muhyi al-Din.

38. To Labid my song, though his lead
No racetrack of merit attempts to trace.

39. You exceed the radiant royal son - your hand
From a drop raises realms as fountains.

40. Favor me with a five hundred regular pension
For your affection has no finite gauge.

41. In the year’s months, give me its installments,
Cycling rounds as the seasons come and go.

42. If you intend only gracious favor, then these
Words, my dear, are wings that fly to you.
