1. Know that what I want to say
Comes from me and all mankind knows

2. I envied your nobility
For which you're honored in every land

3. Without the grace I gave
In vain are the envious men and their flesh

4. If what they said is true, though it's not
Then I'm a man who's been tried by pain

5. An excuse, as the envious chose, and a stance
I compelled myself though it's not right

6. A lie, by your truth, if I dreamed of it
I swear after it I won't dream anymore

7. Reconsider your good opinion of me
With a look whose emotions pour and assemble

8. For if the night comes, it dawns
And if the dawn turns away, it's a dark night

9. You began the beautiful making
And with the Most High will such beginnings conclude
