1. My eyes confess, her hands are bound

١. أَقَرَّ العَينَ أَن عَصَبَت يَداها
وَما إِن يُعصَبانِ عَلى خِضابِ
2. But as she has a matter grave
Like muzzles that restrain the knave
٢. فَأَبقاهُنَّ أَنَّ لَهُنَّ جَدّاً
وَواقِيَةً كَواقِيَةِ الكِلابِ
