1. The torrent flowed, so the torrent made me weep
And tears from my eyelids for it overflowed.
١. جرى السَيلُ فاستبكانيَ السَيلُ إذ جرى
وفاضت له من مقلتيَّ غُروبُ
2. It passes turbid by the other men, but then
It clears up at your place and becomes sweet.
٢. يكون أجاجاً دونكم فإذا انتهى
إليكم تلقَّى طِيبكم فيَطيبُ
