Where the weak are trampled

Except the strong and bold

3. It has sorrows for the wise
So be always on your guard

4. The universe is a world of woe
The universe is confusion

5. The universe is falsehood
Clamor and stealth

6. Joy and sadness are equal
In my eyes

7. Between calamities there is separation
For people in it some traits

8. Some have not known
Except ruin that calls out disasters

9. And some have not tasted of it
Except the most trivial troubles

10. Life is slumber
To end in mortality

11. And visions in it are but
Our hopes and sins

12. If awakened there would remain
Between the eyelids remnants

13. Verily tranquility is a spirit in
The night not to be extinguished

14. And the spirit is a flame of light from
Above every system

15. It will not die out by the winds of
Weariness or by the swords

16. But its blaze may surge
In a flood and overflow the dams

17. All tribulations altogether
Vanish and peace lives on

18. And humiliation is a badge of shame
Not condoned by the dignified

19. Dawn shines after gloom and comes
Radiance

20. And night unwillingly reposes
On the pillow of darkness

21. And for nations there is life
One time and another time demise

22. And despair is death but
Death that stirs up misery

23. And diligence for a people is a spirit
That inspires in them bliss

24. If it were to turn away their
Life would be exposed to ordeal
