1. You attained glory, O you adorned with majesty
A religion and life, may Allah increase your bounties
١. مُنىً نِلتَها يا لابِسَ المَجدِ مُعلَماً
أَديناً وَدُنيا زادَكَ اللَهُ أَنعُما
2. So to Allah belongs how dignified you were in Egypt
And to Allah belongs how pious you were in the Sacred House
٢. فَلِلَّهِ ما أَبهاكَ في مِصرَ حالِياً
وَلِلَّهِ ما أَتقاكَ في البَيتِ مُحرِما
3. I say having witnessed your procession radiant
As it headed towards the Ancient Sacred House
٣. أَقولُ وَقَد شاهَدتُ رَكبَكَ مُشرِقاً
وقَد يَمَّمَ البَيتَ العَتيقَ المُحَرَّما
4. The Kaaba of the world walked to the Kaaba of guidance
The majesty of kingdom and religion overflowing from both
٤. مَشَت كَعبَةُ الدُنيا إِلى كَعبَةِ الهُدى
يَفيضُ جَلالُ المُلكِ وَالدينِ مِنهُما
5. If only I took the path, if only
I reached the haven of the two abodes, vast and profitable
٥. فَيالَيتَني اِسطَعتُ السَبيلَ وَلَيتَني
بَلَغتُ مُنى الدارَينِ رَحباً وَمَغنَما
6. And in the procession a sun who sired the best of creation
The youth of the East, our Master, the Revered Prince
٦. وَفي الرَكبِ شَمسٌ أَنجَبَت أَنجَبَ الوَرى
فَتى الشَرقِ مَولانا الأَميرَ المُعَظَّما
7. Walking to the sun of guidance reverently
Gems orbiting him wherever he goes
٧. تَسيرُ إِلى شَمسِ الهُدى في حَفاوَةٍ
مِنَ العِزِّ تَحدوها الزَواهِرُ أَينَما
8. I have never seen a horizon as your procession rose
With its sides moons, suns and stars
٨. فَلَم أَرَ أُفقاً قَبلَ رَكبِكَ أَطلَعَت
جَوانِبُهُ بَدراً وَشَمساً وَأَنجُما
9. If I were given a choice, I would choose to see
Your staff alone chanting, ecstatic
٩. وَلَو أَنَّني خُيِّرتُ لَاِختَرتُ أَن أَرى
لِعيسِكَ وَحدي حادِياً مُتَرَنِّما
10. I walk amidst the procession towards a courtyard
Upon whose Patron the God prayed and blessed
١٠. أَسيرُ خِلالَ الرَكبِ نَحوَ حَظيرَةٍ
عَلى رَبِّها صَلّى الإِلَهُ وَسَلَّما
11. To the best of Allah's creation, who came speaking
His signs, the Gospel of Jesus son of Mary
١١. إِلى خَيرِ خَلقِ اللَهِ مَن جاءَ ناطِقاً
بِآياتِهِ إِنجيلُ عيسى بنِ مَريَما
12. You toured the coasts of the peninsula passing
Reviving its valleys, you were rain for it
١٢. حَلَلتَ بِأَكنافِ الجَزيرَةِ عابِراً
فَأَنضَرتَ واديها وَكُنتَ لَها سَما
13. You rose in the plain of Mecca visiting
So the Nile envied Zamzam over you
١٣. وَأَشرَقتَ في بَطحاءِ مَكَّةَ زائِراً
فَباتَ عَلَيكَ النيلُ يَحسُدُ زَمزَما
14. After Aaron, its land never won
The likes of you, auspicious, blessing
١٤. وَما ظَفِرَت مِن بَعدِ هارونَ أَرضُها
بِمِثلِكَ مَيمونَ النَقيبَةِ مُنعِما
15. And the pilgrims after his person never saw
At Arafat, the like of your devoted self
١٥. وَلا أَبصَرَ الحُجّاجُ مِن بَعدِ شَخصِهِ
عَلى عَرَفاتٍ مِثلَ شَخصِكَ مُحرِما
16. You stoned and hit the idols, and they were not
Idols over Iblis, but arrows
١٦. رَمَيتَ فَسَدَّدتَ الجِمارَ فَلَم تَكُن
جِماراً عَلى إِبليسَ بَل كُنَّ أَسهُما
17. And He whom you pelt stands at loss
Though he seeks refuge in the heavens, best pelter
١٧. وَإِنَّ الَّذي تَرميهِ وَقفٌ عَلى الرَدى
وَإِن لاذَ بِالأَفلاكِ يا خَيرَ مَن رَمى
18. Between Safa and Marwa you gained more honor
By your endeavor, O Abbas, submitting to Allah
١٨. وَبَينَ الصَفا وَالمَروَةِ اِزدَدتَ عِزَّةً
بِسَعيِكَ يا عَبّاسُ لِلَّهِ مُسلِما
19. You hasten to the Generous Patron revering
How the endeavorer hastened to you revering
١٩. تُهَروِلُ لِلمَولى الكَريمِ مُعَظِّماً
وَكَم هَروَلَ الساعي إِلَيكَ وَعَظَّما
20. You circumambulated, and how wishes orbited your turban
Clasping it, sanctified through you
٢٠. وَطُفتَ وَكَم طافَت بِسُدَّتِكَ المُنى
وَكَم أَمسَكَ الراجي بِها وَتَحَرَّما
21. And when you touched the corner, its passions were stirred
If it could speak, it would have spoken
٢١. وَلَمّا اِستَلَمتَ الرُكنَ هاجَت شُجونُهُ
فَلَو أَنَّهُ اِسطاعَ الكَلامَ تَكَلَّما
22. It remembered Zain al-Abideen and wept over him
And what Farazdaq said regarding them both
٢٢. تَذَكَّرَ زَينَ العابِدينَ وَجَدَّهُ
وَما كانَ مِن قَولِ الفَرَزدَقِ فيهِما
23. If only the corner could grasp a palm
You would wipe it, O most generous of people, hopeful
٢٣. فَلَو يَستَطيعُ الرُكنُ أَمسَكَ راحَةً
مَسَحتَ بِها يا أَكرَمَ الناسِ مُنتَمى
24. You invoked for us where supplication is answered
By your call to Allah, you purified us, so what
٢٤. دَعَوتَ لَنا حَيثُ الدُعاءُ إِجابَةٌ
وَأَنتَ بِدَعوى اللَهِ أَطهَرُنا فَما
25. Your greatest hopes and care are to see
The valleys of the Nile a prosperous people
٢٥. أَمانِيُّكَ الكُبرى وَهَمُّكَ أَن تَرى
بِأَرجاءِ وادي النيلِ شَعباً مُنَعَّما
26. And to rebuild the glory which pillar leaned
And to unsheathe the sword which is nicked
٢٦. وَأَن تَبنِيَ المَجدَ الَّذي مالَ رُكنُهُ
وَأَن تُرهِفَ السَيفَ الَّذي قَد تَثَلَّما
27. You called for Egypt to prevail, and how often
Egypt called Allah for you to live and be safe
٢٧. دَعَوتَ لِمِصرٍ أَن تَسودَ وَكَم دَعَت
لَكَ اللَهَ مِصرٌ أَن تَعيشَ وَتَسلَما
28. If only the Muslim kings emulated
A king, when fate recoils, proceeds
٢٨. فَلَيتَ مُلوكَ المُسلِمينَ تَشَبَّهوا
بِمَلكٍ إِذا ما أَحجَمَ الدَهرُ أَقدَما
29. Scion of kings, Allah bears witness they
Set up the pillar of religion when it crumbled
٢٩. سَليلُ مُلوكٍ يَشهَدُ اللَهُ أَنَّهُم
أَقاموا عَمودَ الدينِ لَمّا تَهَدَّما
30. If he is enamored with bejeweled glory
Abraham was enamored with glory
٣٠. لَئِن باتَ بِالمَجدِ المُؤَثَّلِ مُغرَماً
لَقَد كانَ إِبراهيمُ بِالمَجدِ مُغرَما
31. If the love of honors filled his heart
Ishmael was obsessed with them
٣١. وَإِن تامَ حُبُّ المَكرُماتِ فُؤادَهُ
لَقَد كانَ إِسماعيلُ فيها مُتَيَّما
32. If reverence for The Preserver filled his heart
From it, Tawfiq's heart was filled
٣٢. وَإِن سَكَنَت تَقوى المُهَيمِنِ قَلبَهُ
فَقَد كانَ مِنها قَلبُ تَوفيقَ مُفعَما
33. And if he spends the night rousing Egypt to glory
From his supreme grandfather Ali he learned
٣٣. وَإِن باتَ نَهّاضاً بِمِصرَ إِلى الذُرا
فَمِن جَدِّهِ الأَعلى عَلِيٍّ تَعَلَّما
34. He carried what they carried of glory and carving
And excelled, exhausting eulogizers, prevaiing
٣٤. حَوى ما حَوى مِن مَجدِهِم وَنِجارِهِم
وَزادَ فَأَعيا المادِحينَ وَأَفحَما
35. They prayed through you and prayed for rain, answering their prayers
From the horizon, two downpours from the clouds surged
٣٥. دَعَوا بِكَ وَاِستَسقَوا فَلَبّى دُعاءَهُم
مِنَ الأُفقِ هَتّانٌ مِنَ المُزنِ قَد هَمى
36. Insisting on their plains and lowlands
Reviving the gloom of the deserts until they smiled
٣٦. أَلَحَّ عَلى أَوعارِهِم وَسُهولِهِم
وَحَيّا عَبوسَ القَفرِ حَتّى تَبَسَّما
37. And when he crossed the plain of Mecca, zeal for the House swayed him
To the House, so he headed towards it
٣٧. وَلَمّا طَوى بَطحاءَ مَكَّةَ هَزَّهُ
إِلى البَيتِ شَوقُ المُستَهامِ فَيَمَّما
38. He circumambulated it, then turned from its courtyard
If the Samaritan saw him, he would have submitted
٣٨. أَطافَ بِهِ ثُمَّ اِنثَنى عَن فِنائِهِ
وَلَو عَبَّ مِنهُ السامِرِيُّ لَأَسلَما
39. You rose over them, most felicitous of people
And returned to us, most blessed of people, arriving
٣٩. طَلَعتَ عَلَيهِم أَسعَدَ الخَلقِ مَطلَعاً
وَعُدتَ إِلَينا أَيمَنَ الخَلقِ مَقدَما
40. You returned having cured their poverty with generosity
And were for them in the season of Hajj, a season
٤٠. رَجَعتَ وَقَد داوَيتَ بِالجودِ فَقرَهُم
وَكُنتَ لَهُم في مَوسِمِ الحَجِّ مَوسِما
41. You secured the way to the Sacred House
The way to the House was bloody before
٤١. وَأَمَّنتَ لِلبَيتِ الحَرامِ طَريقَهُ
وَكانَ طَريقُ البَيتِ مِن قَبلِها دَما
42. And facilitated it until the poor brother could take it
No hunger or thirst exhausting him
٤٢. وَيَسَّرتَهُ حَتّى اِستَطاعَ رُكوبَهُ
أَخو الفَقرِ لا يَطويهِ جوعٌ وَلا ظَما
43. You gave generously, and the Lady of Purity and Piety
In the year, until the year was fertile through you both
٤٣. وَجُدتَ وَجادَت رَبَّةُ الطُهرِ وَالتُقى
عَلى العامِ حَتّى أَخصَبَ العامُ مِنكُما
44. You left no wretch above the peninsula
Nor did you leave any starving in the House's field
٤٤. فَلَم تُبقِيا فَوقَ الجَزيرَةِ بائِساً
وَلَم تَترُكا في ساحَةِ البَيتِ مُعدِما
45. You pleased the Judge and the entire religion
The Judge and religion are pleased with you both
٤٥. فَأَرضَيتُما الدَيّانَ وَالدينَ كُلَّهُ
لَقَد رَضِيَ الدَيّانُ وَالدينُ عَنكُما
