1. I have wept copious tears for the youths,
The sons of the virtuous Bakr bin Wail.

2. The most generous of them with his palms,
And the most truthful of them in life,

3. And the most honorable when swords clash,
Is from the Mirdas tribe, who when provoked,

4. You would see a grandfather not tired.
Their deeds are honor for them, and their faces

5. Adorn those they visit in assemblies.
A drinker and shepherd for Ibn Amr bin Mirdas

6. Suleiman, the ancient and glorious man.
A young man who always aspires to every help,

7. And attains what tired hands cannot reach.
It suffices you to know me and his merit,
