But have not been brief, so do not drag on

13. Have I gained anything from piety
Except blame upon amorousness?

14. And furthermore, I will not accept
The idle prattle of disputation

15. Nor listen to the flashes
Of my heart, which is preoccupied

16. More important to me than this
And more befitting and beneficial for me

17. Are praises composed for Majid
Whose character was created flawless

18. And describing the glories I cultivated
In detail and in summary

19. Indeed his resolves are safe
From procrastination and failure

20. And there is no reliance except his loftiness
An exemplar setting precedents

21. Tomorrow busied with glory
Without boredom or laziness

22. On a path from the forefathers and ancestors
Continuously connected

23. And not reliant on their achievements
However magnificent and complete

24. But he added to what they erected
With the aid of the Eternal All-Powerful

25. And the merit of his kindness adorns
And the beauty of his glance outlined with kohl

26. And which of his traits
Has the heart not delighted in?

27. Unsevered affection
And joy unmarred

28. And the comfort a granter knew
In generosity and kisses

29. And when he gained more nobility
By serving the Most Noble of faiths

30. And carried out the duty of jurisprudence
Without deviance or sliding

31. With reliable principles
Clarifying the most complex issues

32. And transmitting what is sound in its source
And reasoning without causes

33. And refined words
Without mistake or fault

34. His chronogram came in a verse
Like the number of a princely robe

35. We saw the council of jurisprudence
Increasing in its loftiness through Ali

36. And if the Pleiades beheld
His overflowing merit

37. You would wonder that I
Visit the sun in Aries

38. I visit his lofty side
In shyness, awe, and dignity

39. And his generous qualities have poured
Like a sudden downpour

40. So I mention the house of one who has said
What my fear of dampness was

41. But his affection stole me
Along with intimacy

42. And I have no reciprocation
Of pine resin or honey

43. Except composing praise for him
As I extend a pleading palm

44. And fulfilling his service is naught
But an intent supplication

45. And undebased panegyric
Of unplagiarized verse

46. That is the effort of the likes of me
And my fortune does not come from me

47. So his praises will remain
With a life without end

48. And may his ascendance remain revered
With the sanctity of the Seal of Messengers
