1. The time of meeting is strange, do not blame me
The passion of the infatuated is agony and love

2. Who hopes for bliss through devoutness
People are divided in the ways of passion

3. And my adherence to Muhammad and his progeny
Is my fortune, and greetings to all fortunes

4. Tell the coquettes among them you have done well
For blame in passion is everlasting

5. You have tried to remove a love with coquetry
Then regretted it the day of discourse

6. I have deserted it out of desire's caprice
And its temperament, oh the melodies!

7. For there I found the wine sweet, no nonsense in its cup
Nor sins

8. If you seek my precedent in passion from me
Then for the like of me precedent therein is forbidden

9. The proofs became clear to my heart and eloquent
Maladies barred you from realizing them

10. And I saw her while the sun is less than her radiance
When you are bleary-eyed sleepers

11. And I smelled the fragrance of her words and heard them
Pearls that change pearls and compose poems

12. By God, an integrity granted exclusively to them
The days were lenient with it while they are strict

13. And the times' noble deeds are brief regarding them
As are their tongues and pens

14. What can be said if they say "We have brought
Guidance and the idols are smashed"

15. Whoever follows our footsteps, paradise is his
Abode of bliss and his faith is Islam

16. This is the honorable nobility, so hold fast to it
Not what is other, for it is delusions

17. And carry out what you can in glorifying them
A people the Scripture extols as great

18. And direct the happy endeavor for their excellent son Muhammad
The days will be joyous for you

19. He whose beauties of light have become clear
The light of prophecy radiant with joy

20. And freshness has become evident in his face
Indeed good fortune is radiance and words

21. Sublime is He who created him of sheer beauty
As if the wombs did not carry him

22. Do not wonder, for the beauty of the lords of mankind
Is the beauty of our happy master enduring

23. Or think it ignorance of the sun of daybreak
While over the dusk it has darkness

24. Or wrong it by making it a sea of limpidity
While the sea is but a bracelet and anklet

25. And if he contained all knowledge, but rather
From their house the flags have gotten it

26. So when do you want the choice of knowledges from them
Then drink, and after drinking there is no delirium

27. And take the guarded secret from their breaths
For they alone, not people, are generous

28. May God bless them as He wills
