1. The fragrance of prayer and the perfume of greetings be upon you
Morning and evening, you are adorned with the finest fragrances in shyness

2. O mercy bestowed upon all worlds, O guidance
If you were not to exist, the magnificent creation would not have existed

3. O my master, O intercessor of all creation
When every messenger says this role is not for me

4. We have come to you in the darkness of our own souls
Seeking forgiveness for our heavy burdens in anxiety

5. So look upon your visitors and forgive them out of generosity
For your grace in welcoming has never ceased

6. We are your guests, O the best of creation, staying
As those in utter need of your hospitality

7. We have come to you from the furthest lands, brought
By the good hope of your abundant generosity

8. We have never been devoid of grace from afar, so how can we now
When we are in your presence like the sun in its height?

9. O Allah’s mercy in all the worlds, O
Muhammad Ahmad, the most virtuous of messengers

10. You came with the truth from God, and you
Never persisted in inability or laziness

11. You struggled fully in His pleasure until
The faith shone in plains and mountains alike

12. And you stood for God in conveying His nation
Never fearing a day or bothered by deserters

13. Until the Islamic nation became manifest
Towering over all other faiths and creeds

14. And this is the realisation of what is recited to make it prevail
In spite of the hatred of the disbelievers and foolish

15. Happy is he who follows the light you brought
Walking through it in the gardens of knowledge and work

16. And woe to those who do not stand tall by it and thus
Become losers, falling into ravines of deviation and error

17. There is no god for creation but the One, the Eternal
And that you are the guided mercy sent from Him to those

18. Other than Him, so that matters may be set right
And that all the news you conveyed is

19. True and factual in detail and in general
This is our testimony, so pride yourself and whoever

20. Entrusts the Chosen one will never despair
Yes, and I have a need in my heart you know

21. I have no life without it, so allow me your company
Yes, and another that is pressing, and I am not

22. Worthy of it, yet you are the one I hope for glory
O how I sought it from those who withhold it

23. Only to accept deprivation after losing hope in locks
And now I have come to you, not blaming anyone

24. You are the generous one who gives without delay
Look upon my humiliation in lovesick longing for you

25. For if you look, I will be adorned with the honour of union
And have mercy on a heart that fire has touched

26. And see tears pouring down in utter loss
The nights of estrangement from me have been long

27. And my hands fell short of removing what ailments clothed me
O my master, life has turned its back and my hands have not

28. Attained what I exhausted my tricks to get
I have implored you by the greatest names

29. And by every magnificent matter bonding union
Grant me companionship through the nights so I may

30. Die while my heart is intoxicated from the nectar
Blessings upon you from He who told us in His remembrance

31. “Pray upon him with tears, perpetual”
And may Allah send blessings and peace

32. The seals of which carry musk, dawn and chicks
And pleasure with Abu Bakr, Umar

33. And the bashful Umar and Ali too
And all who love you, O best of creation

34. With a connection of unsevered lineage
