1. Praise to the one who honored us with noble traits
You tower above counting, with a lofty nose

2. May his prayers and peace be upon
The one who inspires hope with swords and noble traits

3. And for all those loyal to him, I invoke ample mercy
That flows perpetually like a torrent

4. Thus has destiny led me
To that which cannot be averted

5. Toward Constantinople, the city that
Cannot be fully described

6. My soul was filled with a musky fragrance
That soothed my anxious heart

7. It illuminated me with a fleeting glow
I mistook the houses for the glowing sky

8. I asked, “What is this breeze and glow?”
They said, “Have you not heard of the Gnostic Ahmad?”

9. The one whose character is like a gentle wind
With a sweetness relished by the one who tastes

10. Or he is like Harut in the magic of restraint
If not a mystery that flowed from the writer

11. And when you see his cheerful forehead
Over the full moons you will not lament

12. And when you hear his knowledge, then listen
To those oceans that raged, is there one who can draw from them?

13. I swear by his lineage, grace and
Nobility, whether recent or long ago

14. If Al-Nu'man saw the beauty of his charm
He would sway as the swaying of the stormy wind

15. And strangely enough, I saw him
Ask me for my authorization as a Gnostic

16. No! And by the one who raised the banners
It is more fitting that I present my pages to him

17. But I cannot oppose him
And in what he wills I will not differ

18. So I say that I have authorized him
What is valid for me, whether new or old

19. Entrusting Ibrahim to supplicate for him
