1. You adorned an idle one beyond his worth
With praises that exalted him above his merit

2. Were it not for your noble origin’s virtue
I would not be one on whom its fragrance blows

3. Whence do I have the words for your perfection?
Every talker draws from that sea to water it

4. The council suffices you if God does not
A house, the Book of God came with its purity

5. Our affection is yours but its quintessence
Is limited for our Uthman in his time

6. So God’s pleasure and our love are his
And that he attain all he hopes from fate

7. And God grants him all knowledge in full
And gladdens him with subtleties from His mysteries
