1. At the door of the best of creation, my purpose led me,
For I knew that the Chosen One has abundant generosity.

2. I came to him with no knowledge or piety,
But rather, all evil is with me, my master.

3. O you, by whose existence all beings altogether,
Do you see my error, while with you is my guidance?

4. A breath of your generosity, O most generous of mankind,
By my life, has no loss after finding.

5. I sought intercession through the Truthful, your uncle, and he
Who the revelation came to repeatedly, according to what it indicates,

6. And Uthman of the two lights, he whose life
The angels were shy before his rosy face.

7. And Hamza, al-Abbas and all the companions,
Especially the Family, those of affection.

8. Abu al-Hasan, the door to knowledge, and he who came
With his sons as fresh seas, constant in flow.

9. Through them I came, O best of creation, seeking intercession.
I see that I struggled my utmost in my request.

10. Far be it from them that I am disappointed, and I brought
Their names in the string of my poem’s pearls.

11. I harnessed through them the orbits of my matter, as you see,
Constellations, but all of them rise to good fortune.

12. They are Hasan, then Husayn, and his son
Ali, who adorned worship with asceticism.

13. And Baqir, a sea of knowledge, and father of Ja’far,
My master Abi al-Kasim, the brave without denial.

14. Ali ar-Rida, then al-Jawad Muhammad,
Ali at-Taqi, and al-Askari, father of al-Mahdi.

15. And our master al-Mahdi, through whom
The darkness of tyranny and deviation will disappear.

16. So here I am, pleading, O Generous, through their status,
Far be it from them that I am met with refusal!

17. And may Allah send His prayers upon you, as much as you deserve,
And peace, an eternal peace, beyond counting.

18. And upon your Family, and the companions, foremost and followers.
Thereafter, here I am, humbled before your generosity, seeking help.
