يا سالكا في الأرض سبلا

1. O you who tread the earth's paths
No one can evade death's arrows

١. يا سالكاً في الأرض سُبْلاَ
ما يتّقى للموت نَبْلاَ

2. Stop and ponder the transient days
United in merit and nobility

٢. قف واعتبر بحُلاحِلٍ
متوحّد فضلا ونُبْلاَ

3. The days were to him peerless
Neither before nor after

٣. كانت به الأيّام لا
مَثَلاً بَعْداً ولا قَبْلاَ

4. Knowledge lived through him
For all people, and was plenty

٤. والعلم كان به حَياً
لِلْعَالَمِينَ وكان وَبْلاَ

5. How he benefited those who sought refuge
And how he removed from them ignorance

٥. ولَكَمْ أفاد من اعتفى
ولكم أزاح عليه جهلا

6. He showed the ways of guidance
Seeing truth and justice

٦. وأبان عن طرق الهدا
يةِ ما يرى صِدْقاً وعدلا

7. And to the people of merit
From the just he added merit

٧. وعلى أهالي الفضل مِنْ
أهل العدالة زاد فضلا

8. And to the generous of generous stock
He showed the origin of nobility

٨. وعلى الكِرَام مِنَ الكرا
م من الكرام الأصل جُلّى

9. And to the elite writers
Of highest skill he was glorious

٩. وعلى عيون الكاتبي
ن ذوي البراعة كان جلاَّ

10. And now he has gone to contentment
For naught was seen in him but

١٠. والآن سار إلى الرّضى
لمّا تبيّن منه إلاّ

11. Abdullah called him, oh
Full moon of Tamimi chieftains, welcome

١١. ودعاه عبدَ الله يا
بَدْرَ التّميميّين أَهْلاَ

12. He responded to his Lord's call
And chose the eternal kingdom

١٢. لبّى لدعوة ربّه
وتخيّر المُلْكَ الأجلاّ

13. Thus in his history
Paradise was his dwelling

١٣. ولذاك في تاريخه
كانت له الفردوس نُزْلا
